Academic Support Assistant (ASA)

The Morgan Academic Center at Penn State University is accepting applications for Academic Support Assistant (ASA) positions. This crucial role is designed to provide an opportunity for a post-baccalaureate individual to gain experience in the field of academic support for student-athletes. You will be expected to work a maximum of (25) hours per week, scheduled during regular daytime, evening, and weekend hours. This position is an 11-month commitment with an opportunity for renewal.

Responsibilities include:

• Work with an assigned set of student-athletes to monitor academic progress in courses.
• Assist the Morgan Academic Center counselors with monitoring individual student-athlete academic progress.
• Facilitate and assist with monitoring study hall program (includes some Sundays and evenings)
• Assist MAC counselors with student-athlete first-year seminar course.
• Assist with class checking programming and monitoring assigned students' courses.
• Participate in recruiting events and game-day responsibilities.
• Assist full-time academic support staff with other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must possess a bachelor’s degree or higher and demonstrate strong communication, organizational, and professionalism skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Pursuing graduate-level courses and/or a degree program concurrently with this position is highly recommended. This position does not include graduate tuition, fees, or benefits.
