Reporting directly to the Director of Athletics, this position plays a pivotal role in shaping the public image and external engagement of Columbia Koala Athletics. The Assistant Athletic Director will provide strategic leadership and oversight of all external units within the department, including media relations, marketing and promotions, and corporate sponsorships for Columbia College intercollegiate athletic programs. This role is essential in enhancing the visibility, reputation, and support for Koala Athletics.

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Assist with all aspects of external affairs, including branding, and public relations strategies.
• Assist in overseeing athletics marketing communications, video and managing media relations for all sports programs.
• Assist in marketing and promotional initiatives to boost fan engagement, attendance, and community involvement.
• Assist in cultivating and maintaining corporate partnerships and sponsorship opportunities to generate revenue and support.
• Assist in collaborating with campus and community stakeholders to strengthen Koala athletic presence and mission.
• Coordinates the entry and maintenance of accurate and up-to-date demographic and giving information on current and prospective donors; assists with donor research.
• Assists Director of Philanthropy and Engagement with stewardship of endowed scholarships to include working with the Office of Financial Aid to ensure scholarships are being awarded appropriately.
• Trains and leads Advancement team staff on the use of Raiser’s Edge modules.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM WORK:Â

• Bachelor’s degree, required.
• This position requires a valid driver’s license, good driving record and must be insurable by the Colleges insurance carrier.
• Must communicate effectively with all types of people and establish and maintain a strong working relationship with students, parents, alumni, faculty, staff and other college personnel.
• Must have the ability to work responsibly with minimal supervision.
• Must have knowledge of NAIA rules and regulations.
