As a part of a diverse community of faculty and staff who represent many faith systems and worldviews, Marian University seeks an Assistant Athletic Trainer to promote our Catholic Franciscan mission and identity by representing the candidates who will possess a strong work ethic, attention to detail, punctuality, and a desire to lead within the program. The Assistant Athletic Trainer will be expected to lead in developing and mentoring interns within the program. They may be assigned other administrative duties in assistance to the Head Athletic Trainer. The Assistant Athletic Trainer will report directly to the Head Athletic Trainer.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Actively engage the Catholic Franciscan mission and identity of Marian University by modeling the Franciscan Sponsorship Values and honoring the legacy of the founding congregation through transformative education, unity in diversity, leadership through service, integrating faith and life, and institutional policies.
• Daily health care of all student athletes (800+).
• Pre-participation requirements, evaluations, treatments, rehabilitation, immediate care.
• Assist with pre-practice and post-practice coverage of all sports. 
• Assists with game/match coverage of all home contests. 
• Assists the coordination with visiting medical staffs. 
• Assists the coordination and implementation of all electronic medical record input (Health Roster)
• Assists in the compilation of all student athlete medical paperwork for eligibility. 
• Assists weather assessment prior to and during events for storms and heat/cold issues.

• Assists in the compilation of all student athlete medical paperwork for eligibility. 
• Assists weather assessment prior to and during events for storms and heat/cold issues. 
• Assists in department education of nutrition and banned substances. 
• Assists insurance coordination with student-athlete and BMI (Bob McCloskey Insurance).
• Assists in the coordination of physician services. 
• Assists the coordination of plunge tub maintenance and daily monitoring. 
• Assists the coordination of on-site vs. off-site contests. 
• Assists the supervision and education of various graduate level ATS (U-Indy, Franklin, Purdue).
• Assists regular maintenance and upkeep of all athletic training room equipment. 
• Assists with inventory assessments and budget allotment. 
• Travel as needed for post-season championship. 
• Perform other duties as assigned. 

Required Qualifications:

• Possess current Indiana Athletic Trainer License. 
• Possess NPI number/registration.
• Possess and maintain up to date CPR/AED/First Aid Certificate of Completion. 
• Current possession of a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Athletic Training or related field.
