Position Summary

JOB SUMMARY: The assistant athletic trainer is responsible for the prevention, evaluation, management, and rehabilitation of injuries within the College's comprehensive sports medicine program. 

 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prevention of athletic injuries and illnesses.        

• Evaluation of athletic injuries.

• Treatment of athletic injuries.

• Providing counseling and education to student athletes.

• Assist with the coordination and scheduling of medical coverage for home and away competitions.

Position Summary

JOB SUMMARY: The assistant athletic trainer is responsible for the prevention, evaluation, management, and rehabilitation of injuries within the College's comprehensive sports medicine program. 

 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prevention of athletic injuries and illnesses.        

• Evaluation of athletic injuries.

• Treatment of athletic injuries.

• Providing counseling and education to student athletes.

• Assist with the coordination and scheduling of medical coverage for home and away competitions.

• Supervision, education, and recruitment of student and assistant athletic trainers.

• Recordkeeping and documentation.

• Work with doctors and other allied health professionals to deliver care to student athletes 

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Education: Must possess at least a bachelor’s degree from a CAATE accredited athletic training program.

• Experience: Some medical experience preferred but not required

• Certificate/License: Must be NATA BOC certified and possess or be in the process of acquiring licensure from North Carolina.
