Assistant Athletic Trainer
Position Summary: The Assistant Athletic Trainer, under the supervision of the head athletic trainer and team physician(s), will provide athletic training services for Muhlenberg College’s 23 NCAA Division III, Centennial Conference varsity sports.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities:
Athletic Training
Provide first-line evaluation of sports-related injuries. These injuries may occur to athletes both in season and out of season.
When necessary, refer athletes to the proper advanced medical help.
Provide rehabilitation and treatment to injured athletes under the supervision of a licensed physician. This includes, but is not limited to, the use of electrical modalities, manual therapy, hydrotherapy, exercise, and flexibility techniques.
Act as liaison between the athlete, parent/guardian, and physician when needed.
Assist the head athletic trainer in providing supervision to student First-Aiders and athletic training interns from accredited programs. This includes teaching them the necessary skills to provide adequate medical coverage of assigned events.

Qualifications - While no one person may possess all the qualifications listed below, the ideal candidate will have many of the following professional experiences and characteristics:
Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree preferred.
Minimum one year related professional experience.
National Athletic Training Association Board of Certification (NATABOC) and PA State Certification required. The candidate must be Board of Certification (BOC) certified and licensed or eligible to hold a license by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania before their start date.
Procure and satisfy continuing education units to maintain certifications.
CPR certification required.
First-Aid certification required.
Computer proficiency, including MS Office & Google Workspace.
Inventory management skills.
Strong communication, planning, and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and engage with a varied audience, including but not limited to students, parents, College employees, alumni, and community relations.
Ability to travel and adapt to varying schedules, including evening and weekend hours, in accordance with team needs required.
Demonstrated commitment to fostering an inclusive academic and professional environment where all members of our campus community are respected, valued, can succeed, and thrive.
Successful completion of satisfactory background checks required.
