Oversee all medical aspects of the health, welfare and safety of student-athletes for the specific sports assigned. Responsible for compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations.
Establish all medical preparations and coverage at practices and contests for the men’s soccer and women's swimming & diving including the prevention, evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation and return to play decisions of injuries and/or illnesses. Implement measures to prevent injuries and prepare athletes for practice and competition, including taping, bracing, therapeutic exercise, and wearable technology. (65%)
Assist and monitor physical rehabilitation of athletic related injuries. Apply therapeutic modalities, therapeutic exercise, manual therapy and education to student-athletes while considering the physical and psychological aspects of their injuries. (20%)
Organize proper medical coverage for all summer sport camps. Design minimum standards of medical coverage for each sport camp including the basic number of staff needed, staff pay rates and insurance protection needs. Hire and schedule medical coverage with Certified Athletic Trainers for all summer sports camps. Advise coaches on all medical aspects required to operate a camp. (15%)
