Description

The Assistant Athletic traineris responsible forassistingtheDirector of Sports Medicinein the overall management and operation of Rivier University’ssports medicineprogram working with 15 NCAA III varsity intercollegiate teams.Provide forthe prevention, evaluation, care, treatment, andrehabilitation of athletic injuries for Rivier University’s teams. This is a full-time 10-month position reporting to the Director of Athletics and to theDirector of Sports Medicine. This position requires the ability to work evenings and weekends. There isindoor andoutdoor work and travel.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Providing forthe prevention, care, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries forNCAAIII program with 15 varsity intercollegiate teams.

  • Preparing for andprovidingcoverage for all home games and practices for 15 intercollegiate teams

  • Administering CPR, AED, and first-aid when necessary.

  • Administering emergency care as needed.

  • Coordinating treatment and rehabilitation for athletic injuries as needed.

  • Administering all records, screenings as needed andmaintainingaccuratereports on all students treated inappropriatetimeframes.

  • Maintainingappropriate records, reports, and information as needed forthe University, insurance, legal or professional purposes.

  • Communicatingandcollaborating withtheteamphysicianand other medical staff, as needed to ensure proper evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of injured student athletes.

  • Maintaining collaborative working relationships with administrators and coaches and other university constituents as needed.

  • Communicating effectively with coaches and student-athletesregardinginjuries and playing status.

  • Coordinating the transportation of student-athletes to doctor, hospital, etc., when needed.
