Assistant Baseball Coach

Missouri Valley College seeks to hire an assistant coach to work for the Vikings’ baseball program. The assistant coach supports the Head Coach in managing all aspects of the college’s program. This includes coaching, recruiting, practice and game planning, player development, academic monitoring, and program administration in alignment with the mission and values of MVC and NAIA rules and regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist in planning, organizing, and conducting practices and competitions.
• Provide position-specific instruction (e.g., hitting, pitching, infield/outfield).
• Recruit and evaluate prospective student-athletes in compliance with NAIA and institutional policies.
• Foster the academic and athletic development of student-athletes.
• Assist in scheduling, travel arrangements, and game-day operations.
• Support field maintenance and equipment management as directed.
• Promote a positive and inclusive team culture consistent with the values of the institution.
• Ensure compliance with all NAIA, conference, and institutional rules and regulations.
• Assist with fundraising, community service, and alumni engagement efforts.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Coach or Athletic Director.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Previous playing and/or coaching experience at the collegiate level is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of NAIA rules and commitment to ethical conduct in athletics.
• Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and travel as required.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with recruiting management software and video analysis tools.
• Background in strength and conditioning or field maintenance is a plus.
• CPR/AED and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
