Purpose of Position and Scope of Responsibility: Assist the Head Baseball Coach in managing the program, including hitting and serving as JV Coach

Under the general direction of the Athletic Director

Under the direct supervision of the Head Baseball Coach

Exempt-Primarily Instructional

Principal Accountabilities/Responsibilities:

1. The coach's primary responsibility will be instructing the student-athlete, teaching various athletic methods of success, as well as training them in the proper style. Furthermore, the coach will directly educate the student-athlete on how to best succeed in their chosen athletic endeavor. In short the coach will be expected to instruct student-athletes how to succeed in sport and in life through techniques demonstrated, modeled, and shown in practice as well as in the classroom and in life

2. Responsible for overseeing the development of JV baseball players

3. Recruitment of qualified student-athletes

4. Maintaining equipment and facilities including field work

5. Assist in weekly game prep. Coaching JV Games

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree

Related work experience in coaching baseball

5 years of experience as a high school/collegiate coach

Physical Requirements:

Work requires moderate physical exertion (up to 50 pounds) on a continuous basis (over 50% of time); or heavy physical exertion (over 50 pounds) on a frequent basis (up to 50% of time).

Environmental Conditions:

Work involves intermittent to occasional exposure to unpleasant working conditions or undesirable elements; may involve some contact with potentially hazardous or harmful elements in providing administrative or support services.
