Description
Under the guidance of the head bass coach, assist will all aspects of the bass fishing team. Primary areas of responsibility include recruiting student-athletes that meet Simpson University admission guidelines to achieve roster goals and field a competitive team, helping organize team's competition and practice schedules, providing academic, personal, spiritual and professional mentoring to student-athletes, complying with all rules and regulations of appropriate governing bodies.
Qualifications:
- Background experience: possess a working knowledge of all aspects of the respective sport
- Demonstrated ability and success in identifying and recruiting student athletes at a private, residential institution.
- Has a working knowledge of current digital technologies and platforms such as: Google Apps, Microsoft Office, Facebook, Instagram, etc.
Personal experience demonstrating the following:

- Support the overflow needs of other departments within the respective university area
- Perform other duties in accordance with this position as deemed necessary by the immediate supervisor
Essential Functions:
- Communicate effectively the rules of the sport to the players
- Keep abreast of new information, innovative ideas, and techniques in the sport by attending clinics, reading new information, and networking with other coaches in the profession
- Maintain accurate records, player information and game statistics
- Help with responsibility of equipment and uniform issuing and care
- Exhibit regular attendance at all team meetings, practices, and games
- Help emphasize proper safety procedures in training for the sport and keep abreast of injury procedures
- Help administer the athletic study halls or tutoring for student-athletes who need the extra help
- Develops a program schedule and outline of activities.
- Supervise the Bass Fishing Team activities, practices and competitions.
- Schedules and supervises a pre and post-season meeting.
- Ensures that members understand the expectations of the Bass Fishing Team, represent academic excellence with the school, and serve as good role models for the student body.
- Adhere to all field trip/transportation procedures for activities /practices / competitions and supervises participation during trips.
- Provides for the safety of students, facilities, and equipment while conducting all activities/practices/competitions.
- Evaluates Bass Fishing Team outcomes and develops and implements improvements.
- Organize, supervise, and conduct fund-raising as required to support the Bass Fishing team.
- Maintain financial records of expenses and fundraisers.
- Recruit team members and maintain a complete roster for all levels.
- Maintains social media accounts and works with Athletics Department to update school website.
- Consults with parents as needed.
