Athletics: Women's Acrobatics & Tumbling
Under the general supervision of the head coach, the assistant coaching position provides support and assistance of the intercollegiate program, but is not limited to the following: preparation of training/practice sessions, pregame organization, scouting reports, team travel arrangements, monitoring student-athlete academic performance, recruiting, professional communication in regards to the coaching staff and individual players.
Bachelor’s degree with one year experience competing and/or coaching at the collegiate level plus collegiate level playing and/or coaching experience preferred and a commitment to Division III philosophy and experience with NCAA or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Thorough knowledge and understanding of NCAA and NCATA guidelinesDemonstrated skills in developing and motivating students both athletically and academicallyCommitment to the values of a liberal arts educationUnderstanding of teacher/coach model in a NCAA Division III athletics programAbility to demonstrate effective communication skills both orally and in writing.Proficiency in computer use and relevant Microsoft applications.Valid driver license with good driving record required; must be insurable.Must have current training in First aid and CPR/AED or have scheduled date for recertification.Knowledge of College/ University level playing and/or coaching and commitment to Division III philosophy preferred.
Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Evening and weekend hours in all types of weather are kept, with travel from both campuses necessary. As there is some lifting (ie., set-up of scorers table, etc.), some manual labor is expected. Because of the location of athletic facilities on each campus, organizing and some transportation between campuses is expected.
Provide leadership for the team; establish coaching strategies and teaching methods to develop student-athletes’ skills and teamwork; analyze team performance and adjust strategies as needed.Responsibilities include development, and administration of all phases of the program including recruitment, training, practice, competition, scheduling, and adherence to NCAA regulations.Assist with recruitment of student athletes.Develop policies and procedures for student-athletes (and volunteer coaches).Develop strategies to foster athletic and academic progress of student-athletes.Perform marketing or public relations duties to promote the program as needed
