Summary: This position reports to the Head COED Cheer Coach and is responsible for providing
coaching expertise and leadership for the administration of the intercollegiate COED cheer program;
assisting the head coach in the effective education, management and administration of all aspects
relating to a positive and beneficial intercollegiate experience for student-athletes, while performing
other related duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
● Assist in developing and leading practices when necessary.
● Creation and implementation of gameday and competition material, including but not limited
to: choreography, cleaning, and other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
● Assist in developing and leading practices when necessary.
● Creation and implementation of gameday and competition material, including but not limited
to: choreography, cleaning, and other duties as assigned.
● Assist in developing and implementing team rules and expectations.
● Travel to all regular season and postseason contests. Occasional driving will be required.
● Management of the team during games, events, fundraisers, volunteer events and other
campus activities.
● Work cohesively with the head coach in team development.
● Identifying and recruiting qualified student-athletes.
● Maintain strong relationships with student-athletes and their families through events, email,
phone and one-on-one meetings.
● Collaborate effectively with other members of the Athletic Department.
● Support the general goals, values, and vision of the institution and Athletic Department.
● Engage in, coordinate and help implement all fundraising activities for the program in
conjunction with the head coach, athletic advancement and its representatives.
● Communicate regularly and maintain a positive and constructive working relationship with
support staff in sports information, student services, sports medicine, campus recreation,
business office, facilities/operations, compliance, athletic advancement and marketing to
assist in implementation of an efficient and effective program and department.
● Represent the university at professional meetings, alumni gatherings, campus activities, and
civic affairs as requested by the head coach or athletic administrators.
● Attend and participate in department and staff meetings as requested/required.
● Encourage an effective outreach program with student-athletes that provide benefit to the on
and off-campus community.
● Maintain, as appropriate, effective relationships with parents, alumni, friends of the program,
and others toward the positive image and promotion of the program.
● Evening and weekend work is required
CRITERIA
● Previous experience coaching or competing at the collegiate or professional level is highly
desirable. (Candidates with experience coaching at the high school level for 2+ years will
also be considered)
● Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
● Ability to lead and work independently as well as within a team environment
● Ability to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends
● Clean driving record
