Job Summary/Basic Function

Work closely with the Head Men's Basketball coach in organizing, administering, and overseeing all aspects of our NCAA Division I Men's Basketball program operations. Serve as a trusted advisor to the Head Coach and staff to support the program's NIL vision while cultivating long-term partnerships essential to the sustained success of MTSU's basketball program, develop systems that maximize MTSU's resources and brand, and provide financial education to help student-athletes build a strong economic foundation. Serve as an executive leader who solves complex problems, reduces stress, and builds confidence for the Head Coach in the evolving NIL era. Improve current NIL processes and create organizational procedures to optimize efficiency. Essential duties include day-to-day coaching of student-athletes, individual skill instruction, recruiting academically sound and competitive student-athletes, responsibility and oversight of all team travel arrangements, development of a community outreach program, and oversight of public service projects for the team. Serve as team liaison to the Compliance Office, the BRAA, high school coaches, and other groups as assigned. Pass the recruiting test each year. Monitor and evaluate student-athletes' physical and academic progress throughout the recruiting season. Manage budgeted funds assigned to the men's basketball program. Serve as a positive role model for the student-athletes, resolve team issues not directly associated with coaching, and work with the coaches to develop scouting reports throughout the season.
