The Center for Intercollegiate Athletics is committed to providing an outstanding student-centered athletic experience through the pursuit of academic and athletic excellence.  We do so within the context of integrity and respect.  The assistant coach for RIT’s Division I Men’s Ice Hockey program will join an exceptional staff who strive to create an unrivaled experience that fosters the intellectual, physical, social, and emotional growth of our student-athletes in order to prepare them for success as leaders in the global community. 

Reporting to the Head Coach for Men’s Ice Hockey the assistant coach will provide leadership for RIT’s Division I Men’s Ice Hockey program.  The incumbent must have outstanding technical, tactical and strategic knowledge of the sport of Ice Hockey.  Responsibilities include assisting and supporting the head coach with the planning, development and implementation of all activities related to the program.  Including, but not limited to, recruitment, supervision, mentoring, and coaching of student athletes, planning, scheduling, and instruction for individual and team development, practices, training sessions, contests, game plans, player development and advisement/mentorship. 

The incumbent will demonstrate exemplary ethical conduct and conformance to University, department and NCAA rules and regulations; the duties of the position are to be performed in compliance with all NCAA, League and division rules and regulations; and any rules violations on behalf of themselves or any knowledge of violations within the department are to be reported to the appropriate parties.  The ideal candidate has a demonstrated track record of success. They should also have strong organizational skills and an ability to work independently.
