Position Summary:   This position is responsible for assisting all activities that pertain to the women’s volleyball program. This includes assisting in all aspects of the program’s practice, training, and competition needs during the fall athletic season.

Essential Job Responsibilities:  

1. Assist in fostering an atmosphere of competitive leadership in the Great Southwest Athletic Conference through sport-specific athlete development. Assist in the planning, developing, and directing of all team training activities, competitions, and travel related to competitions.

Other Functions:

1. Responsible for adherence to all NAIA, GSAC, and institutional rules and regulations, including eligibility and compliance of student-athletes, medical hardship documentation, and extension waivers.

2. Responsible for identifying and notifying student-athletes of eligibility status through an approved communication.

3. Adherence to all Benedictine University Mesa and Department of Athletics policies and procedures. Work independently and creatively within established guidelines, while at the same time functioning as a member of a team.

4. Attend departmental and University-related meetings and events.

5. Maintain a high level of organization and ability to manage multiple tasks.

6. Maintain positive relationships with alumni, parents, students, officials, volunteers, and fans.

Required Qualifications:

Education:  High School Graduate/GED Required, Bachelor's Degree Preferred

Experience:  Previous collegiate coaching preferred.

Specific Skills:  Knowledge of NAIA philosophy, recruitment, rules and regulations.

Specific Knowledge, Licenses, Certifications:  Yes. Valid Driver’s License required. CPR certification is preferred.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to handle varying levels of stress while maintaining professional demeanor. Possible lifting, bending, walking, kneeling, stretching, and stooping. Frequent districtwide and statewide travel; frequent prolonged and irregular hours; outdoor exposure to sun/heat or cold weather.
Ability to speak clearly so listeners can understand. Understand the speech of another person.
See details of objects that are less than a few feet away or are more than a few feet away. Must be able to stand for long periods of time. General Customer service and office environment.

Working Conditions:  Indoor and outdoor environment. Nights and weekends are required.

Training:  As a University employee you are required to complete all University-specific and/or OSHA related training to fulfill your job duties.  Specific training will be conducted online or in person.  Employees must complete all trainings required by Benedictine University.
