Assistant Coach, Swimming

As the assistant coach, you will be partially responsible for recruiting, coaching, supervising, and advising student-athletes. You will assist the head coach with strategizing and conceptualizing for the team, improving athletes’ skills, developing public relations and promotional activities, and accompanying the team to all events. In this position it is your duty to monitor the academic success of team members, manage the equipment, and perform administrative duties. Additionally, you will assist in analysis and entry for competitions, uniforming, travel orders, creating itineraries, and submitting receipts and invoices.

Minimum Qualifications:

• A bachelor’s degree with two years of experience in coaching swimming at the collegiate level
• Should possess the ability to motivate recruits, student-athletes, and alumni to support the program

Preferred Qualifications:

• Budget management
• Compliance with and working knowledge of NAIA policies and procedures

Certificates, licenses, and registrations:

• Lifeguarding
• Current USA Swimming Membership or equivalent
• Coaching Safety Certification

Travel Required:

• 20% to 40%

Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
