Assistant Coach Track and Field – Jumps

Missouri Valley College, a proud member of the NAIA and the Heart of America Athletic Conference, invites applications for the position of  Assistant Track and Field Coach – Jumps. This individual will serve as the primary coach for all jump events and assist with the overall administration and success of the men’s and women’s track and field programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Design and implement training programs for all jump events (long jump, triple jump, high jump, pole vault).
• Instruct and develop student-athletes in technical and tactical aspects of their event groups.
• Assist in recruiting quality student-athletes in accordance with NAIA and institutional guidelines.
• Contribute to meet preparation, travel coordination, and day-to-day program operations.
• Monitor academic progress of student-athletes and support student success efforts.
• Promote a culture of sportsmanship, integrity, and excellence.
• Comply with all institutional, conference, and NAIA rules and regulations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.

• Prior collegiate coaching or high-level competitive experience in jumps events strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of NAIA rules and a commitment to student-athlete development.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience recruiting and mentoring student-athletes at the college level.
• Strength and conditioning certification a plus.
• Ability to contribute to other event groups or team areas (e.g., sprints, relays) is a plus.
