ASSISTANT COACH, TRACK & FIELD/SPORT PERFORMANCE , DAPER Intercollegiate Sports, supports MIT’s men’s and women’s cross country and track and field programs, with a dual focus on coaching and sport performance. The role includes coaching and supervising athletes in jumps, high hurdles, and short sprints, including recruiting and mentoring student-athletes in these event groups; designing and leading in- and out-of-season strength and conditioning programs for cross country and track and field, as well as other varsity teams as assigned by the Director of Sport Performance; coordinating logistics and meet setup for assigned event areas; assisting with team travel as requested by the Director of Track and Field/Cross Country; leading team development initiatives, including leadership training, conflict resolution, and alumni mentorship programs; and staying current with professional development in track and field and sport performance, and ensuring compliance with NCAA Division III regulations.

Job Requirements
REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree; a minimum of three years of coaching experience; specialty certification in jumps and/or sprints/hurdles (USTFCCCA preferred); strength and conditioning certification (NSCA CSCS preferred); First Aid, CPR, AED, and biohazard training (required within 30 days of hire); proven recruiting success at a selective institution; strong administrative, interpersonal, and communication skills; and proficiency with relevant software and technology. PREFERRED: Master’s degree; and five years of experience at the collegiate level.
