Position Summary

William Jewell College, an NCAA Division II institution and member of the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC), seeks a part-time Assistant Women’s Lacrosse Coach. This individual will support the head coach in the daily operation and growth of the women’s lacrosse program, with a primary focus on student-athlete development, recruitment, and fostering a positive team culture aligned with the mission of the College.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist in the planning, organization, and implementation of practice sessions and competition strategies.
• Provide individual skill instruction, feedback, and mentorship to student-athletes.
• Support the recruitment and evaluation of prospective student-athletes, including communication, scouting, and campus visits.
• Promote academic success, personal growth, and holistic development of student-athletes.
• Assist with team travel arrangements, equipment management, and game-day operations.

• Other duties as assigned by the Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach or Athletics Administration.

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Prior lacrosse playing or coaching experience at the collegiate, club, or high school level.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to mentor student-athletes.
• Commitment to academic and athletic excellence, integrity, and student-athlete well-being.

Preferred:

• Previous NCAA coaching experience.
• Familiarity with recruiting technology and film systems.
• CPR/First Aid certification.

Position Details

• Employment Type: Part-time, non-benefit eligible
• Work Schedule: Flexible, including evenings, weekends, and travel as required by the competitive season
• Compensation: Salary (commensurate with experience)
