Brown University Athletics and Recreation is currently seeking candidates for the Assistant Coach, Women’s Water Polo position.  Located in Providence, Rhode Island, and a member of the Ivy League, our intercollegiate athletics program consists of 38 varsity teams with approximately 1,000 athletes who participate within the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA-D1).   

The Assistant Coach for Women’s Water Polo is a dynamic, professional development-focused role designed for an aspiring coach eager to master the complexities of collegiate program operations. This position prioritizes the technical growth of student-athletes through targeted skill-building sessions and specialized position work, while simultaneously offering a deep dive into the administrative side of the sport, including film analysis, travel logistics, and recruiting support. By working closely with the head coaching staff to execute daily practice plans and manage essential team operations, the successful candidate will gain the comprehensive experience and mentorship necessary to transition into a career in high-level athletic leadership.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree required.

  • 1-2 years of coaching experience or a combination of competitive playing experience and/or coaching experience at the collegiate level.

  • Enthusiasm for learning and a strong desire for professional development.

  • Solid communication and organizational skills.
