Description

At Piedmont University, a member of NCAA Division III and the Collegiate Conference of the South, the Assistant Director of Athletic Communications plays a key role in promoting the university’s 22 intercollegiate athletic programs through creative storytelling, digital media and statistical coverage. The Assistant Director works collaboratively with coaches, student-athletes and staff to enhance the visibility and brand of Piedmont University Athletics.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Serve as primary media contact for assigned sports and provide secondary support for others.
Produce timely and accurate press releases, game recaps, and feature stories for PiedmontLions.com and other platforms.
Manage live statistics and assist with live streaming for home events.
Create and schedule content for social media channels, including photography, graphics, and video highlights.
Maintain and update team rosters, schedules, and records.
Coordinate with conference and national offices on award nominations, statistical reporting, and promotional materials.
Supervise and mentor student workers, interns, and part-time game-day staff.
Assist in the planning and execution of special events, including Hall of Fame inductions, media days, and postseason hosting.
Ensure compliance with NCAA, conference and university policies.
Other relevant duties as assigned.
