Summary
The Assistant Director, Football Video Operations, assists in the management of the Football Video unit by producing practice and game videos and assisting with implementation of technology within the Football program. The Assistant Director guides the student video team in tactics, techniques and procedures to capture appropriate video footage during practices and games, and creates films for all players and coaches that provide analytic resources through video products. The Assistant Director must uphold the standards of excellence established by the Head Football Coach. All the duties of the position must be conducted in adherence with the policies, rules, and regulations of the United States Military Academy (“USMA”), Army West Point Athletic Association Inc. (“AWPAA”), the American Conference (“Conference”), and the National Collegiate Athletic Association (“NCAA”).

The responsibilities outlined in this job description are integral to the success of the AWPAA Football program as video support is a key factor in providing resources for coaches and players to have the necessary tools to compete and win on an NCAA Division I FBS level. The video products are a critical component of team development and preparing coaches and players for competition, so the Assistant Director has immense ability to impact the on-field success of the program. Disregard of NCAA rules can have a similar negative impact. The employee must maintain a high level of professionalism, moral and ethical character, and be a role model.

This position requires advanced creative judgment and artistic skills in sport cinematography, multimedia storytelling, and digital video production. The Assistant Director exercises independent direction in filming, editing, and producing original video content, including highlight reels, instructional videos, and recruiting media, applying invention, imagination, and artistic skill as a core component of the role.

This position must be able to handle the physical demands of office hours and recruiting events.
Travel
This position must be able to travel to all away games, as well as local hotels the night prior to home games. Occasional travel with team functions and recruiting events on campus and in the local vicinity of West Point to capture media content.

Pay Range
$48,000 - $52,000

AWPAA expects to hire for this position near the middle of the range.
