Through oversight and direct interaction this position will play a key role in data collection, analysis, and communication to coaches, support staff, and associated personnel.

Essential Functions:

· Lead data collection, analysis, and communication of sports science data for assigned teams.

· Technology utilized includes but not limited to Catapult, Force Decks, NordBord, Force Frame, Body Weights, Subjective Questionnaires.

· Daily oversight and mentoring of our team of sports science interns within Olympic Sports.

· Collaborate with athletic medicine, sport performance, nutrition, behavior health and coaching staff to optimize student-athlete health, wellness, performance, return to play, rehabilitation progression and minimize risk for injury.

· Provide insight/feedback to customize data management software.

· Assist in the vetting of new technologies and software.

· Contribute to research initiatives including data collection, data security, analysis, and scholarly writing.

Qualifications:

· Master’s Degree or PhD in Sports Science, Exercise Science, Physiology, Kinesiology, Biomechanics, or related academic field.

· At least one (1) year of experience working within a collegiate athletics or professional sports.

· Experience working with athlete monitoring technologies (GPS, Force Plate, Wellness Questionnaires, Body Weights).

· Data analysis and visualization skills (Power BI, Excel, R, Python, etc.).

· Previous interdisciplinary work and communication within a comprehensive high-performance environment.

· Experience in leadership/mentoring within an applied sports setting.

Education

Work requires analytical, communications and organizational skills generally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree program.

Experience

Work requires one year of experience in program administration or involving academic, instructional or counseling activities to acquire skills necessary to plan, coordinate and implement a variety of program activities and events. OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Anticipated Pay Range: Duke University provides an annual base salary range for this position as USD $44,766.00 to USD $71,706.00. Duke University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position; candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills; internal peer equity; as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
