Assistant Director of Athletic Performance-Football

Description & Details:

The Assistant Director of Athletic Performance-Football, under the guidance of the Director of Athletic Performance-Football, will assist in all aspects of the training of Football student-athletes.  They will support and effectively communicate the Athletic Performance department’s philosophy and vision to the student-athletes and coaching staff. Duties include but are not limited to:

• Assist with the development of the return to play protocols for injured athletes.
• Assist with conducting body composition testing and management.
• Assist with the management of fueling station and staff.
• Assist with the arranging of post-practice caterings.
• Assist with the arranging of pre-game meals.
• Provide nutrition education.
• Work with NDSU Dining Services on fall & winter camp meals and meal plan management.
• Assist in the design and implementation of a developmental strength and conditioning program for incoming players upon their arrival to campus until the winter training cycle of their first year. 
• Assist in leading and directing daily training sessions for the developmental workouts.

• Assist in leading and directing daily training sessions for the developmental workouts.
• Teach safe and effective lifting techniques as well as speed development, agility and conditioning exercises.
• Assist with the development of the yearly training calendar.
• Assist with the design and implementation of the strength and conditioning programs for pre-season, in-season and off-season training cycles.
• Assist in directing the daily training sessions for returning players.
• Assist with developing the testing and assessment protocols to measure the physical development of individual athletes.

Hiring Range:

$65,000 - $75,000/year

Pay is based on several factors, including budget, labor market, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and/or certification and other business considerations.  

Minimum Qualifications:

• MA or MS in Physical Education or related field

• Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist

• CPR Certification

Preferred Qualifications:

4 years of experience in a Division I collegiate setting

Core Competencies:

Proficient computer skills.

Organizational/prioritization ability

Strong interpersonal/oral/written communication skills

Detail orientated

General knowledge of first aid and AED use
