POSITION SUMMARY: Reporting to the Head Football Coach and Director of Athletics, the responsibilities for this role include assisting in all aspects of program operations. This includes organizing and implementing practice plans, providing instruction, and developing strategies and tactical plans for competition days. The role also involves evaluating and recruiting prospective student-athletes, scouting opponents and preparing detailed reports, and supporting the execution of sports camps and clinics. Additional responsibilities include maintaining effective communication with players, overseeing team equipment, and assisting with the management of the program’s social media presence.
Assistant should be familiar with, and work to remain compliant with, college, Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC), and NCAA DIII rules and procedures. The department is particularly interested in candidates who have experience of working with students from diverse backgrounds.

QUALIFICATIONS:
REQUIRED HOURS AND POSITION DETAILS: This is a part-time, non-exempt, temporary position that is not eligible for benefits. The hours for this position are at least 20-30 hours per week on a variable schedule. Weekend and evening work hours will be required. Travel may be required. Regular hours may vary due to needs of the College or division. Must be willing to work extensive weekend and evening hours. All staff positions are ineligible for visa or permanent resident card sponsorship. As a California employer, Pomona College requires all employees to be residents of California.
HOURLY RATE:
The hourly rate for this role is $16.50. The specific factors that the College will consider when offering a salary to an individual will include, but not be limited to: education, training, relevant prior experience, and performance in prior roles.
