Primary Function:
The Assistant Football Coach (Coordinator) supports the head coach in all aspects of the football program, focusing on one side of the ball, management of position coaches, recruitment, and student-athlete development in accordance with NCAA Division III standards.
This position receives general supervision. Broad instructions are provided, and the staff member uses judgment and experience to carry out assignments. Completed assignments and finished products are reviewed by the supervisor after completion.

Coordinate special teams units, organizing the team and staff to implement the scheme and maintain depth charts
Coach linebackers, developing players' skills and techniques on the field and in the meeting space
Assist in creating and implementing practice plans
Recruit prospective student-athletes, maintaining thorough records in recruiting software
Support student-athletes' academic progress and personal development
Assist in equipment management and maintenance
Participate in film study and opponent scouting
Contribute to team travel planning and management
Engage in community service initiatives and alumni relations

Performance of the essential duties of this position is dependent upon independent ingenuity and developmental efforts.
Personal Interaction/Communication: - Student Contact: Daily; recruiting, conducting campus visits, instructing physical education classes, coaching - Internal: Periodic; addressing student-athletes' schedule problems or personal issues; collaborating with the Office of Admissions in recruiting efforts - External: Periodic; scheduling events/competitions with other institutions; communicating with parents of student-athletes, alumni groups, and media
Education:
Bachelor's degree in physical education or related field
Experience:
3-5 years of coaching experience, preferably at the collegiate level
Playing experience at the collegiate level preferred
Job-Related Skills:
Strong understanding of football fundamentals and strategies
Excellent interpersonal and motivational skills
Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations
Requires a commitment to the principles of NCAA Division III athletics, emphasizing the balance between academic achievement and athletic participation. The successful candidates will demonstrate a passion for developing student-athletes both on and off the field
Licenses & Certifications:
Valid Tennessee driver's license

Game plans: dealing with matters of a highly sensitive or personal nature regarding student athletes
Working Environment: - Work is performed in an office environment with a significant amount of time spent either outdoors on playing fields, in the pool area, or in other athletic facilities as specific sport(s) require.

Must be able to climb (many stairs, ladders),
