Job Title : Assistant Football Coach / Scholar-Athlete Success Coordinator

Department : Athletics and Recreation

Reporting Relationship : Directly reports to Head Football Coach; Closely aligned with the work of (1) Special Assistant to the President for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and (2) Dean for Enrollment Management and Director of Admissions

Office Location : Armory / TBD

Work Schedule : Regular


Summary of Duties and Responsibilities

An assistant football coach assigned to a position group, e.g., running backs, the staff member will significantly contribute to campus efforts focused on student recruitment and retention, scholar-athlete success, and further a culture of brotherhood among Wabash students. The position will mentor students and build bridges with campus student organizations that promote belonging and community engagement, such as La Alianza and the Malcolm X Institute of Black Studies. In partnership with our “Restoring Hope, Restoring Trust” grant, the position will also direct and develop partnerships with community-based organizations with a specific focus on college degrees for groups traditionally underserved by higher education.
