SUMMARY/SCOPE:
The Assistant Golf Coach will be responsible for helping in all aspects of the HSU golf program.
The Assistant Golf Coach will work closely and directly with the head coach and aid in all areas of the golf program. The assistant coach must be a motivated individual who will bring leadership, enthusiasm, and a desire to contribute to the golf program.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
ASSISTANT GOLF COACH RESPONSIBLITIES:
Recruiting: Assistant coach will help with recruiting and growing the roster of both golf teams. Coach will spend time going to golf tournaments throughout the year to identify and recruit potential members of the golf team.
Travel extensively throughout a primary recruiting market to seek, select, and convert prospective athletes to HSU to actual enrolled students.
Development of the HSU Golf Dinner fundraiser for the golf program: The assistant golf coach would help with several fundraising efforts for the golf program. Specifically, the coach would help with all stages of planning and hosting a dinner each year that would generate funds for the golf program. The dinner would be the night before the Joe Black Golf Tournament which is held each September. The assistant coach would be responsible for securing auction items for the dinner along with finding a featured speaker who would raise the interest level in the event.
Supervision of the Hale Short Game Center: The assistant coach would help coordinate when the Hale Short Game Center would be open for practice and for public use.
Assist in organization of tournament and practice schedule for both fall and spring season by organizing a schedule for the student-athletes and setting up tee times with local courses for practice.
COMPLIANCE:
Responsible for assisting all athletes with completing their required online NCAA paperwork before they compete.
Ensure that all student-athletes complete institutional and athletic department paperwork.

Hazing
Four-year Transfer Forms
Title IX Training
Serve as Game Day Administrator throughout the year for various athletic events. Would also help the Director of Athletics with game day responsibilities for NCAA post-season events and the hosting of high school athletic events on campus.

COMPUTER SKILLS: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software; Project Management software; Human Resource systems and Contact Management systems.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Degree required.
Must also have experience playing and/or coaching golf at the university level.
Must have proficient computer skills, strong work ethic and effective communication skills as demonstrated through work previous experience.
Must also have excellent organizational skills. Candidates will be required to provide examples of their ability to plan and organize as demonstrated through previous work experience.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications required (or must be obtained).

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
This position is a Full-Time, Exempt/Salaried Level staff position.
A minimum of a 40-hour work week is expected; times vary depending on practice schedules, tournament schedules, etc.
Work beyond a 40-hour week is often required during peak season.
Extensive travel is required, including evenings and weekends, especially as part of travel to and from tournaments during the golf season and recruiting season, including occasional overnight travel.
Must be able and willing to complete early morning duties as well as assist in occasional weekend sporting activities. Hours will be based off a flexible schedule so candidates must be readily adaptable to any circumstance or situation.
Occasionally work is also required on university holidays depending on tournament and practice schedule.
Must have and maintain a valid Class C Driver’s License and maintain a clear driving record to be insurable under the university liability policy.
Must be able to drive to complete work assignments on and off campus, as needed.
Travel and irregular hours are required during peak season.
Additional travel may be required on occasion to attend trainings or workshops.
