Responsibilities:
Assistant Men’s and Women’s Track & Field Coach:

Act as a professional and positive representative of the Carroll University Educational Experience
Serve as a teacher, counselor, and role model so that student athletes will improve upon their physical, intellectual, and social behaviors
Maximize the physical talent of the team through quality teaching and coaching, and the promotion of teamwork
Assist the Head Coach in planning, organizing and administering all practice sessions
Assist in recruitment of student athletes while working through the Head Coach with the Office of Admission to maximize enrollment
Retain student athletes at Carroll University and within the team
Assist in maintaining, managing and updating equipment inventories
Teach the skills and strategies necessary for student-athletes’ success in the event(s) assigned by the Head Coach
Assist with the management and maintenance of all meet and practice facilities used by the team
Participate in team and departmental camps/clinics, community service projects, fundraising activities, and alumni events whenever possible
Perform other duties as assigned
Assistant Athletics Strength and Conditioning Coach:
Teach and supervise student-athletes in the execution of proper training techniques
Assist with the management and oversee the strength and conditioning programming for Carroll student-athletes as directed by the Coordinator of Strength and Conditioning
Assist and provide advice, recommendations etc. to Carroll athletic programs as it relates to strength and conditioning programs
Assist in the training and implementation of comprehensive athletic performance enhancement and injury prevention programs for Carroll teams who choose to participate throughout the year
Assist with scheduling strength and conditioning sessions based on facility availability as well as staff and student schedules
Work with University staff members including athletic staff, academic staff, and athletic training staff regarding student-athlete injuries, and provide modifications to workouts for injured and/or rehabilitating student-athletes
Facilitate appearance cleanliness of the facility, maintenance and organization in the weight room, as well
Current CSCS, or another recognized association certification in strength and conditioning required
Prior teaching experience preferred
Previous playing or coaching experience preferred
Expertise in the event(s) and sport on intercollegiate level preferred
Expertise in teaching the skills necessary for student-athlete success in the event(s) assigned by the Head Coach
Special Requirements:
Must have valid motor vehicle license and be insurable under the University's insurance plan
Human Relations Skills:
Ability to function effectively as a team player
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Sensitivity to the needs of student-athletes and an understanding of their overall educational goals as well as the academic mission of the University
Positive attitude towards the University and its intercollegiate programs is essential
Ability to conduct self in a productive, professional manner at all times
Ability to work effectively with people regardless of their age, gender, race, sexual orientation, ethnicity, religion, ability, socio-economic background, or job type.
