| Key Responsibilities |
Juniata College , an NCAA Division III Institution, invites applications for a 12-month, full-time Assistant Men’s & Women’s Swim Coach. Juniata is a co-educational, liberal arts college and highly regarded for its academic excellence. Responsibilities include but are not limited to; assisting the Head Coach with all facets of the program, coaching and instruction, strong communications skills (email, phone, text), strong organizational skills, practice planning, film and scouting reports, the recruitment of qualified student-athletes, ability to travel for recruiting, academic monitoring, and the organization of prospect days. Secondary responsibilities in support of the Athletics Department will also be included.

This is a 12-month position that includes a monthly stipend, room, board and full benefits.

Primary Role:
• Assist with all facets of the Men’s and Women’s Swim program including, but not limited to, recruiting, scouting, player and team development, team travel, camps and clinics.
• Recruitment of qualified student-athletes—maintain database, manage communications and prospect information, generate and update recruiting calendars and schedules, evaluate and communicate with PSA’s, recruit and retain qualified student-athletes.
• Organize and coordinate all team travel including team meals, hotel arrangements, securing practice sites/times, team travel needs—extras bag, video camera, projectors, etc.
• Assist with all aspects meet preparation including scouting as required.
• Assist with practice preparation and organization.
• Assist with off-season program evaluations and preparations.
• Assist with strategies, adjustments, and decision making.
• Assist with on-deck and in-practice teaching, coaching, and demonstration.
• Conduct individual workouts and skill development sessions.
• Assist with planning and preparation for all summer lessons/camps.
• Ensure adherence to the rules, regulations, and policies of all governing bodies—Juniata College Athletics, Juniata College, Landmark Conference, and National Collegiate Athletic Association.
• Participate in overall administration of the Athletics Department by representing the office as requested and cooperatively assisting colleagues. This includes attending all mandatory department activities and functions, participation on department and campus committees, and partaking in enrollment, fundraising, and/or promotional events.
• Support athletic operations and essential functions, as assigned by the Director of Athletic Events and Operations.
• Other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director/Head Men’s and Women’s Swim Coach.

· Bachelor’s degree required
· Lifeguard Certification 

· Knowledge and understanding of NCAA rules, regulations, and the Division III philosophy.

· 1-3 years of collegiate coaching experience preferred

· NCAA playing experience preferred

· Demonstrated ability to teach, strategize, recruit, manage, and represent a highly competitive college swim program.

Valid driver’s license required, clear of major violations. Juniata College reserves the right to review driving records to determine suitability for position.
