Assistant Sports Information Director

Sports Information
Serve as the primary contact for nine of the university’s 23-sport

program and assist the Sports Information Director in the overall development and implementation of the athletics communications office through media relations, press releases, media guides, web sites, social media, and any other print & electronic methods available. The University of Scranton is an

Oversee and administrate the University’s Athlete of the Week and Royal Review programs
Update and maintain the university’s web site for the sports listed above
Assist in the administration of the annual Wall of Fame program and Senior Student-Athlete Banquet
Write and edit press releases and game previews/recaps of the above sports that will be sent to the electronic and print media and to be published on the university’s web site
Promote & market the University’s athletics program through video editing and video streaming of athletic events
Update and develop content for the University’s social media platforms
Manage and assist with event management for home athletic events
Updating of career stats and records for all sports
Working on developing career baseball stats (No stats prior to 2000)
Develop career stats for baseball, tennis, and golf
Organizing photo archives
Handling publication update requests (marketing, alumni, admissions, etc.)
Excellent writing and communication skills
Interest in and knowledge of Athletics
Excellent organizational & managerial skills;
Web-site management
Ability to work closely with Associate Director of Athletics & Coaches
Must have working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, the Stat Crew, PrestoSports, and Genius Sports statistical packages, photography, and iMovie
Must have the ability to work nights and weekends when required and have the ability to travel
Must be able to support the University’s commitment to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive culture
Must be able to respect, support and contribute to the University’s Catholic and Jesuit mission
Bachelor’s degree required. Will consider applicants with degree conferred prior to May 30, 2025.
Master’s Degree is preferred.
