Purpose of Position

The Assistant Stunt Coach reports directly to the Head Stunt Coach and is responsible for the organization and administration of the Stunt and Cheer programs in accordance with the rules and regulations of the University and

NCAA

.

The Assistant Stunt Coach must commit to developing a competitive

NCAA

Division I Stunt program while maintaining an emphasis on the academic success of the student-athlete. The Assistant Stunt Coach will be expected to administer the program in a manner that promotes the health, safety, and welfare of the student-athlete.

Compliance with

NCAA

rules is of the utmost importance at Northern Kentucky University. As a member of the athletics department staff, it is expected that the Assistant Stunt Coach will have a full understanding of the

NCAA

rules that pertain to the position. The Assistant Stunt Coach is also expected to comply with all

NCAA

rules. If he/she becomes aware, or has reasonable cause to believe, that a violation of a rule has occurred, he/she will immediately report it to the direct supervisor or Director of Athletics.

Primary Responsibilities

Assist in the planning, coordinating and implementing in-season practices, including team and individual workouts. Planning, coordination and implementation of out-of-season practices, including individual skill instruction and team workouts, focusing on the development of athletic skills to compete at the Division I level.

Assist in planning and implementation of game plans for each game/meet, including video breakdown and development of scouting reports of opponents

Assist in recruiting student-athletes in accordance with

NCAA

regulations and academic standards, as well as university academic requirements. Ensure recruiting numbers are where they need to be, working with Sport supervisor in setting these goals.

Assist in establishing procedures to monitor the academics of each of the Stunt-Cheer student-athletes. Effectively report to Head Stunt Coach when student athletes are in not in academic compliance.

Assist in creating a budget to ensure Stunt program is fiscally responsible and expenditures are within budget allocation.

Assist in the coordination and participation of fundraising activities for the Stunt program and/or the Department of Athletics.

Coordinate strength and conditioning program with the assigned Strength and Conditioning Coach.

Be actively engaged within the University, as well as the surrounding communities Comply with

Qualifications

Minimum one year of related coaching experience; prior collegiate participation and/or coaching experience is required;

NCAA

Division I coaching experience preferred.

Good organizational skills, communication skills, and interpersonal skills. Displays leadership skills and uses tact.

Motivated, display integrity and professionalism. Loyal and uses fairness and equitable in the treatment of others.

Displays public relations skills and promotes Northern Kentucky University Stunt and Cheer program.
