Job Description

Carnegie Mellon University’s department of Athletics is searching for a Part-Time Assistant Swimming and Strength Coach. Carnegie Mellon Universityhas a world-renowned reputation with core values that reflect its commitment to hiring and retaining individuals with a diversity of talents, perspectives and experiences. A national research university, Carnegie Mellon is a member of the NCAA Division III and University Athletic Association. This position is a seasonal, part-time academic year appointment from September 1, 2025 - November 30, 2025 and January 1 - March 31, 2026.

Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Assist with skill instruction, motivation and ability to conduct practice sessions under direction of the head coach

  • Assist head coach with planning, implementation, and supervision of dryland training and weight training practice sessions

  • Demonstrate sincere interest in personal, academic, and athletic progress of student athletes

  • Exhibit supportive and cooperation behavior pursuing sport programs goals as set by head coach

  • Demonstrate leadership ability and professional behavior when dealing with student athletes

  • Other duties as assigned
