Middle Georgia State University (MGA), a multi-campus, baccalaureate and graduate degree granting public institution, is the most affordable public state university in Georgia. MGA has five campuses-Macon, Cochran, Dublin, Eastman, and Warner Robins, all located in central Georgia-and global outreach through its fully-online campus. The Assistant Women's Basketball Coach is responsible for assisting the Head Women's Basketball coach in creating and maintaining a successful program for the institution on the field, in the classroom and in the community.
Duty 1 -
Teaches skills required for both team and individual player development at the direction of and in coordination with the Head Coach.

Duty 1 -
Teaches skills required for both team and individual player development at the direction of and in coordination with the Head Coach.
Duty 2 -
Assists with on-field coaching.
Duty 3 -
Provides Instruction and supervision of strength and fitness conditioning of individuals and team.
Duty 4 -
Maintains regular office hours in and out of season
Duty 5 -
Assists the Head Coach in identifying and recruiting academically and athletically talented student-athletes.: Communicates with coaches and players, Actively involved in every aspect of the recruiting process, Identifies prospects, makes initial communication, and is point of contact for specific prospects, and Works with specific prospects through the entire intake/admissions/eligibility process.
Duty 6 -
Assists operational aspects of team management, including but not limited to: equipment inventory and field preparation and maintenance.
Duty 7 -
Assists Head Coach in ensuring a positive student-athlete experience.
Duty 8 -
Develops and maintains relationships with students, colleagues, staff, alumni, and parents to ensure the success and growth of the program.
Duty 9 -
Supports the Head Coach in all areas of team development and management.
Duty 10 -
Serves as a manager in the Cochran Wellness Center for hours to be specified by Director of Athletics.
Duty 11 -
Serves as a Campus Security Authority (CSA) as defined by the Jeanne Clery Act
Duty 12 -
Performs other duties as assigned by Head Coach and/or the Director of Athletics.
Educational Requirements
Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of a Bachelor's degree in a course of study related to the occupational field
Required Experience
Experience as a player or coach at the collegiate or professional level as a substitute for education requirements.
Experience sufficient to thoroughly understand the work of subordinate positions to be able to answer questions and resolve problems, usually associated with one to three years' experience or service.
Skill in the coaching and training of student athletes.
Knowledge of college-level athletic program management principles.
Knowledge of sports field maintenance principles.
Knowledge of Women¿s Basketball rules and procedures.
Knowledge of National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC), and National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) rules and regulations.
Knowledge of computers and job-related software programs.
Skill in the analysis of problems and the development and implementation of solutions.
Skill in oral and written communication.
