Major/Essential Functions
The Associate Director of External NIL Operations will oversee centralized coordination for external NIL activities under the direction of the Senior Associate Athletics Director. This role will serve as the primary point of contact for NIL Go, external engagement, managing student-athlete support, business partnerships, and external collaborations. The Associate Director will provide leadership to ensure NIL activities within the Red Raider Club are executed with consistency, integrity, and innovation, advancing both student-athlete success and departmental objectives.
NILGo Administration
Compliance & Payor Oversight - Serve as the main liaison for NIL payors and document associated payor status. - Ensure all external NIL activities align with NCAA, conference, and state regulations.
Business Alliance Development - Partner with the Red Raider Club and athletics leadership on the Business Alliance to ensure business capacity is clear, coordinated, and strategically aligned across all efforts. - Actively identify, solicit, and cultivate business relationships to expand the Alliance and provide increased opportunities for student-athletes.
Student-Athlete Support & Education - Work with compliance and revenue share administration on external NIL education initiatives for all student-athletes, creating consistent messaging around branding, contracts, compliance, and personal financial management. - Serve as the Red Raider Club liaison with Student-Athlete Development to integrate external NIL programming with financial literacy and tax education. - Collaborate with coaches and athletics staff to address program-specific external NIL needs in coordination with the Senior Associate Athletics Director. - Support sports programs as needed with recruit visits.
External Partnerships & Collaboration - Serve as the main liaison with external NIL partners (Athletiq, Learfield, and others), ensuring efficient communication, alignment, and execution of initiatives. - Represent the department in external NIL-related meetings, panels, and community forums as needed.
Operations & Reporting - Track, evaluate, and report on external NIL program impact and participation, providing regular updates to athletics leadership. - Supervise assigned staff, graduate assistants, or interns supporting external NIL operations. - Assist in budget planning and resource allocation for external NIL education, programming, and partner engagement.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field plus three years related experience; OR a combination of related education and/or experience to equal seven years.
