Job Description

The Associate Director of Game Operations demonstrates establishing positive, mutually respectful, and effective working relationships with scholar-athletes, coaches, administrators, faculty, alumni, and the public in assisting with all gameday operations, setup and teardown, and game management for all home varsity athletic events, including hiring, training, scheduling, and management of part-time and student personnel to ensure Florida Tech athletics provides a positive experience for all participants and spectators.

Florida Institute of Technology is a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II and the Sunshine State Conference (SSC). In meeting the University’s tradition of ethical conduct at all levels of university life, the role is responsible for demonstrating a commitment to represent the University in an honorable and ethical manner and complying with all athletic, NCAA, SSC, Florida Institute of Technology, and established Federal Government policies and protocols, including the use of all athletic and university software and technology systems, documentation, travel arrangements, equipment/supplies maintenance, orders, and community service.
The role is a Campus Security Authority (“CSA”) as defined by the Clery Act and will comply with university policies on the reporting of crime statistics and related information to the official designated by the University for Clery Act reporting and in compliance with Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, is defined as Responsible Employee and will report incidents of sexual misconduct (including sexual harassment and sexual violence) and other inappropriate sexual conduct to the University’s Title IX Coordinator or other appropriate designee as required by University policy.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Assist with overseeing the Game Operations Department, including planning and coordinating all game operations in managing all home varsity athletic & special events, hiring, training, scheduling, and management of part-time and student personnel to coordinate facility setup and teardown, pre-game, in-game, and post-game activities, , serving as a liaison for visiting teams and officials, and ensuring Florida Tech athletics provides a positive experience for all participants and spectators.
  • Collaborate with the Assistant AD for Facility Services on preparing, maintaining, and operating facilities at a high level. Monitor facility conditions and coordinate repairs, upgrades, or safety improvements, and maintain readiness of all game-related equipment, signage, and operational systems.
  • Manage the comprehensive electronic inventory program (TRAC), which encompasses distributing, collecting, and disposing of equipment, shoes, and apparel. Track and reconcile inventory to support team and departmental needs.
  • Serve as a point of contact for Campus Security, Melbourne Police, National Cleaning Service (NCS), Panther Dining Services, and other outside vendors to support game elements.
  • Other duties assigned by the Associate Athletic Director for External Operations.
