The Associate Head Coach is critically involved in all aspects of the program, is given specific autonomy, and shares responsibilities with the Head Coach in key areas of the program such as recruiting, coaching tactics/strategies, budget management, staff oversight, etc. The Associate Head Coach has significant responsibility in the following areas, but not limited to: mentoring assistant coach(es); scheduling and team travel. Work collaboratively with the Head Coach to develop practice plans, strategies for upcoming contests, and player skills and conditioning programs. Develop and execute a segment(s) of each practice including demonstrating or conducting student-athlete trainings. The Associate Head Coach, in consultations with the Office of Student Athlete Excellence, will assist in developing student-athlete profiles assessing their athletic and academic and potential. Ensure compliance with NCAA, UAA and University regulations.
Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree
Preferred Education:
Master's Degree
Required Experience:
3+ years experience as an athlete or assistant coach of cross country, track & field at the high school or college level or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Experience:
1+ years some experience in coaching at the college level.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
CPR/AED certification (or ability to obtain), working knowledge of NCAA rules. High level of interpersonal/motivational skills. Must have current valid driver's license.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Continuing education/certification in specific sport
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $80,600.40 to USD $98,511.60. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
