The Assistant Softball Coach supports the Head Coach in all aspects of operating a competitive collegiate softball program. This role includes on-field coaching, recruiting, player development, and administrative responsibilities while promoting academic success, sportsmanship, and compliance with institutional and conference regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with planning and conducting practices, training sessions, and game-day preparation
Provide instruction and player development in assigned areas (e.g., hitting, pitching, defense, or base running)
Assist with recruiting prospective student-athletes, including evaluations, campus visits, and communication
Support player academic progress and personal development
Analyze game and practice film to enhance team and individual performance
Assist with scouting reports, practice plans, and game strategy
Participate in team travel, equipment management, and scheduling as assigned
Ensure compliance with NCAA/NAIA, conference, and institutional rules
Represent the softball program positively on campus and in the community
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Head Coach or Athletic Department
