The Athletic Business Manager is responsible for daily management of financial operations in the Athletic Department; assisting with budget and compliance with federal, state, college, and NCAA financial regulations; directly monitoring of corporate sponsor contracts; assisting with daily operation of the Athletic Business Office and coordination of general accounting activities.

Specific Responsibilities:

Monitor and adhere to current NCAA guidelines, federal, state and college rules, regulations, and policies relative to athletic operations, finance, and accounting procedures. This includes preparation of annual reports for Dept. of Education, member conference and NCAA as well as responding to inquiries for the annual college audit. Serve as athletics liaison with the college Business Office.
Coordinate budget and reporting operations on a daily basis, to include monitoring and reconciling daily activities in order to maintain current records of expenditures and cost control, preparation of the annual department budget, monthly budget reporting and budget projections. Work with Athletic Director and Senior Associate AD on end of year department settlement. Create reports to analyze financial information.
Supervise receipt and deposit of all funds; maintain current petty cash fund for departmental needs.
Assist Senior Associate AD with coordination of personnel policies and procedures; including submittal of payroll stipends, providing support to coaches and staff during new employee hire or status change process and on-boarding of new employees regarding departmental business procedures.
Manage scholarship assignments for scholar athletes. including working with coaches on amounts available to offer recruits, maintaining records on active scholarships, assigning specific funds to SA's and delivering this information to the Financial Aid Office when needed.

Manage process for digital disbursement of per diem and meal money funds to teams, including maintenance of rosters, on-boarding new employees and SA's to the digital process, maintaining system for requesting disbursements and executing processes to disburse funds.
Oversee P-card use of the department, including issue and cancelation of cards as well as review of transactions for accuracy before delivering to Senior Associate AD for approval.Essential
Manage payment of officials for various team competitions, including vetting W9's and weekly submittal of payment vouchers following games and matches.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree

1-3 years of experience in management functions or equivalent combination of education & experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Three plus years of experience with record keeping, bookkeeping, or accounting for a college or university athletic office operations.

Intermediate computer skills.

Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Supervisory experience.

Experience in a college or university setting.

Knowledge/Skills:

Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations for college and/or university business office operations.
