Description

The Athletic Director shall have the primary responsibilities for all athletic team programs to effectively plan short- and long-term strategic goals for the department. This will include accountability and regulatory compliance for all student-athlete activities. This position requires a strong commitment to student athletes’ academic success and strong support for the strategic goals and mission of the University. This role reports directly to the President.

Essential Functions:

The Athletic Director is responsible for the overall management of the intercollegiate athletics program, establishing and adhering to policies, procedures, regulations, and guidelines in compliance with the policies, procedures, regulations, and guidelines of all University, NAIA, state, and Federal Laws.

  • Represent Florida Memorial University and the Athletic Department positively with the highest degree of ethics and integrity.
  • Promote and support the mission of Florida Memorial University.
  • Provide visionary leadership and strategic planning for the Athletic Department creating and sustaining a culture of transparency, professionalism, integrity, and respect at all levels.
  • Work with the Florida Memorial University Advancement office to raise funds for the athletic department.
  • Supervise a plan for community relations with corporate sponsors, donors, alumni, and other external stakeholders to ensure maximum positive exposure and visibility of the Athletic Department.
  • Generate enthusiasm and financial support for the athletic programs through ticket sales, merchandise, corporate sponsorship, giving, etc.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships and communications with all internal and external stakeholders including, but not limited to, University personnel, students, alumni, donors, corporate partners, fans, local and state government agencies, the community, the NAIA, and other professional organizations.
