Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit

Position Summary

*THIS IS A CONTINUOUS POSTING. THIS RECRUITMENT WILL REMAIN OPEN UNTIL ALL POSITIONS ARE FILLED".The selected candidates will assist in all facets of D1 Athletic event management, including preparation and facilitation for regular and post-season Olympic Sports events and home football games during the 2016-17 academic year. Additionally, candidates will be managing crowds, working with visiting teams/officials, managing scoreboards, scanning tickets, and other duties as assigned, which will require providing high level of service in all areas. Candidates must be able and willing to work nights, weekends and operate effectively in inclement weather.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Minimum Education and Experience:Graduation from high school; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:-Strong written and verbal skills and a working knowledge of various computer applications.-Ability to advise and manage matters related to event operations.-Effective decision-making skills; ability to handle and adapt to high levels of stress.Preferred Education and Experience:Understanding of D1 Athletic policies and protocols; ability to multitask, be proactive, calm and personable under pressure; previous experience with event management and possess interpersonal skills; work effectively as a team member; possess listening and communication skills in various environments; strong situational awareness and the ability to prioritize and stay composed under pressure; ability to take direction, exercise critical thinking, andability to design event related materials; possession of emergency management skills; familiarity with various communications devices (PA, Radio, Scoreboards); AED, First Aid/CPR and experience with two-way radios also desired.
