This new position serves as the admissions office’s  liaison to athletic coaches  and plays a key role in ensuring that student-athletes and their families receive accurate, timely information about the admissions process, financial aid, and campus life.Â

Position OverviewÂ

The Athletic Liaison  proactively engages prospective student-athletes from inquiry through enrollment. Working closely with head coaches and athletic staff, the liaison coordinates communications, provides admissions guidance tailored to eligibility timelines, and helps deliver a seamless experience for incoming athletes.Â

Key ResponsibilitiesÂ

Student-Athlete Recruitment & Relationship ManagementÂ

• Identifies, cultivates, and manages prospective student-athletes through school visits, recruitment fairs, email, phone, text, and campus visits.Â

• Serves as the admissions liaison to head coaches, keeping them informed of applicant status and deadlines.Â

• Coordinates with coaches on campus visits, and special recruitment events.Â

• Provides exceptional, student-centered service to prospective athletes and their families.Â

Communication & PresentationÂ

• Conducts individual consultations and group presentations to prospective student-athletes and their families.Â

• Clearly explains admissions requirements, timelines, financial aid, housing, and student-athlete resources.Â

• Tailors communications to resonate with athletes, parents, and high school/club coaches.Â

Program KnowledgeÂ

• Maintains thorough knowledge of the University’s undergraduate programs, admissions criteria, and scholarships.Â

• Collaborates with faculty, athletic compliance staff, and student services to stay current on eligibility and support resources.Â

Marketing & Digital EngagementÂ

• Uses CRM and recruitment platforms (e.g., Recruiter, Colleague) to track student-athlete inquiries, applications, and enrollment.Â

• Assists in developing communications and digital content targeting prospective athletes.Â

• Plans and hosts on-campus and virtual events specifically for student-athlete recruitment.Â

Enrollment Conversion & Goal AchievementÂ

• Manages a recruitment pipeline of student-athletes from inquiry to enrollment, meeting or exceeding established targets.Â

• Provides regular reports on recruitment progress to admissions and athletic leadership.Â

Qualifications

QualificationsÂ

RequiredÂ

• Bachelor’s degree.Â

• One to three years of experience in student recruitment, admissions, athletics, or a related field.Â

• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.Â

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and comfort learning CRM/student information systems.Â

• Ability to travel, work evenings and weekends for recruitment events.Â

PreferredÂ

• Experience recruiting student-athletes or working in a collegiate athletic environment.Â

• Familiarity with NAIA rules and timelines.Â

• Knowledge of higher education admissions best practices.Â
