Position Title: Assistant Men’s and Women’s Track & Field/Cross Country Coach

Position Reports to: VP for Student Life and Athletics

GENERAL SUMMARY

The Assistant Men’s and Women’s Track and Field Coach is a full-time staff position (12 months) that provides leadership and coordination for a diverse athletic program. The assistant coach is responsible for assisting the Head Men's & Women’s Cross Country/ Track and Field Coach with maintaining and developing the direction of the Athletic Department's Cross Country and Track & Field Programs. This position has responsibilities in player development, team strategy, practice schedule, meet event planning, recruiting, and scouting.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  1. Evaluate and recruit a qualified pool of prospective student-athletes.
  2. Assist with coordinating the Official Campus Visits made by prospects and their parents or legal guardians.
  3. Assist the head coach with daily practices and meet preparation.
  4. Provide skill development and encourage team cohesion.
  5. Communicate information and expectations of the coaches clearly to student-athletes.
