Position Title: Assistant Men’s and Women’s Track & Field/Cross Country Coach

GENERAL SUMMARY
The Assistant Men’s and Women’s Track and Field Coach is a full-time staff position (12 months) that provides leadership and coordination for a diverse athletic program. The assistant coach is responsible for assisting the Head Men's & Women’s Cross Country/ Track and Field Coach with maintaining and developing the direction of the Athletic Department's Cross Country and Track & Field Programs. This position has responsibilities in player development, team strategy, practice schedule, meet event planning, recruiting, and scouting.

The assistant coach is responsible for assisting the Head Men's & Women’s Cross Country/ Track and Field Coach with maintaining and developing the direction of the Athletic Department's Cross Country and Track & Field Programs. This position has responsibilities in player development, team strategy, practice schedule, meet event planning, recruiting, and scouting.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
40% Practice and Competition
40% Recruiting
20% Other
MANAGERIAL/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
May supervises a staff of student workers and graduate assistants in both office and game-day settings.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS :
Bachelor’s degree; master’s preferred. Experience working as a coach in an intercollegiate athletics environment preferred. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to lift 50 lbs., stand, walk, and sit for extensive periods.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Must be able to gain and maintain CMU driving approval. Weekends and evening work is required. Knowledge of NAIA and Heart of America Athletic Conference policies as they relate to the sports of cross country and track & field as well as the conduct of athletics, faculty, staff, and students.
