Position Summary

Assist and support the development of an infrastructure for recruitment and retention plan directed at solidifying a solid roster of quality student-athletes.  Assist with the cultivation of a recruiting plan to support the University’s Strategic Plan as directed by the head coach.   The assistant coach has considerable secondary responsibility in successfully developing a solid roster of quality students that will represent the University in a positive way in the community; at the same time supporting and encouraging a community outreach attitude in advancing of the university Strategic Plan.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist and support in the promotion of the educational values of athletics consistent with the educational values of the University as outlined in the University and Athletic Department Mission Statement.
• Assist in implementing and managing all phases of a Division I lacrosse program.
• Support the head coach in ensuring the program is following the rules and regulations of the NCAA, MAAC, and Sacred Heart University
• Assist the head coach with the evaluating and developing a recruiting plan for prospective student-athletes.
• Assist the head coach in organizing, preparing, and conducting individual and team practices.
• Assist the head coach in developing and implementing scouting reports/game plans.
• Serve as Social Media Coordinator.
• Alumni Management and Coordinator
• Assist the head coach in administrative and office duties including but not limited to managing/organizing team travel arrangements and fundraising.
• Participation in team and department functions, events, and meetings.
• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Other Attributes 

• Bachelor's degree.
• Four to five years of playing and coaching experience st the intercollegiate level, preferred experience and knowledge st the goalie position. 
• Excellent knowledge of all tactics.
• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Impeccable integrity with a working knowledge of the NCAA rules and regulations.
  
• Strong administrative and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of  Hudl preferred.
• CPR and First Aid Certified or the ability to get certified in a timely manner.

Unusual Working Conditions

Must have fundamental athletic skills to teach and supervise. Ability to work weekends a must.
