Description

Work in helping to maintain all athletics facilities in a game ready/practice ready/guest ready manner. Includes work in Allen Arena, on all fields and helping with setup, take-down, cleanup or movement of equipment, materials, storage items in any other athletics-related areas, as needed.

Work indoors and outdoors throughout the year to maintain all facilities in the athletics environment in a safe, efficient, ecological, economical manner.

Extensive night and weekend work during school year will be required based on Athletic events/competitions and facility needs.

Required Qualifications

• Knowledge in maintenance of Baseball, Softball and Soccer Fields.
• Scorer’s Table, basketball goal, volleyball goals, retractable seating pre & post game set up required.
• Must be able to complete any requiredOSHAtraining.
• Must be able to perform a wide range of physical activities including, pushing, pulling, lifting, kneeling, reaching, etc.
• Must be able to read, write, and understand English.

• Must possess a valid TN drivers license with an acceptable driving record.
• Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, etc.)
• Must be able to work in a team environment.
• Must have a strong work ethic.
• Must be available to work, as needed, on nights or weekends for game day set up, athletic emergencies, or project work.
• Any additional certifications or work-related training is considered a plus.

Typical Duties:

• Assist in all practice and game day set up, inside Allen Arena, or outside at all fields and courts, as needed.
• Assist in overall outdoor athletics facilities field preparation for practice and games to include mowing, painting of fields and other facility preparation.
• Complete event tear-down of athletic events.
• Assist in grass/turf, tree, shrub, maintenance around Athletic facilities.
• Meet and assist game visiting teams and officials before and after events, as needed.
• Maintain safe operation of a push/riding mower, string trimmer, utility cart, and road vehicles.
• Pick up litter and debris, inside and outside facilities
• Watering, Weed beds, Sweeping, Digging, Raking, Mulching, Maintain irrigation system., Snow removal.
• Assist with indoor sports which includes set up and take down of retractable seats, basketball goals, volleyball poles and nets, tables, chairs, banners, flags, etc.
• Laundry – assist in maintaining the laundry facility and inventory.
• Responsible for repairs across facilities – either making repairs or contacting those who can do so.
• Retrieve and distribute mail when a part time employee cannot do so.
• OverseeIDEALstudents or part time employees on specific tasks.
