The Coordinator of Sports Information (CSI) reports to the Sports Information Director and assists in publicity efforts for all sponsored sports, including writing press releases and feature stories; Produces and edits game programs, game notes, and media guides; Assists with maintenance of the Athletic department’s website requires the ability to report to work in-person on the Texas Southern campus and travel when necessary for away games and special events. | | Essential Duties Summary |
- Working closely with the Sports Information Director, the Coordinator of Sports Information assists in publicity efforts for all sponsored sports, including writing press releases and feature stories; producing and editing game programs, game notes and media guides; helping maintain historical records; distributes athletic information to all media outlets; and assists in the relations with local, regional, and national media. - Conduct pregame, in-game, and postgame interviews with coaching staff and athletic department personnel. - Assists the game day operations, including media relations, game management and statistical services. - Have knowledge of statistical software (NCAA Live Stats, Stat Crew, etc.) Submit schedules, statistics, other data to conference and NCAA. - Assist with the TSU Athletics live stream (breakdown, setup) on a needed basis along with some writing duties for www.TSUSports.com. - Serve on Athletic Hall of Fame Committee as needed. - Communicate and collaborate effectively with a wide range of audiences including faculty, students, leadership, staff, alumni, suppliers, fans, and agencies. - Assist the Sports Information Director and Athletics Social Media Content Assistant with social media campaigns. - Will help set the strategy for and direct the creation of engaging and relevant content across all TSU Athletics flagship social media accounts, including Facebook, X, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Threads and other social media platforms. - Collaborate with the university social media team to coordinate content and schedule cross-promotion of content when appropriate. - Demonstrate understanding of the university’s mission, values, goals and priorities and an ability to ensure that all are considered in developing communications strategies. - Assess, inventory and track items/equipment needed in the office. - Helps supervise graduate assistant and interns. - Perform other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Intercollegiate Athletics and Sports Information Director. Knowledge of:

Maintenance of the official athletics web site including schedules, rosters, stories, player biographies.

Skill in:

The selected candidate should also know how to work with CMS website maintenance along with knowing how to work in the Adobe Suite including PhotoShop, InDesign, Premiere, and Audition.

Ability to:

Work outside of normal business hours, including evenings/nights/weekends as needed for the completion of job responsibilities. Travel is a part of this position; this includes overnight stays depending on team and department needs. | | Work Experience |
