Description

Lead, mentor, and inspire the SMC Spirit Team as well as coordinate spirit programming for other assigned sports. Drive team excellence through leadership, coaching, event execution, recruitment, and program management. Prepare the squad to perform with energy and professionalism at all men’s and women’s basketball home games, select postseason tournaments, and additional athletic events as assigned.

Requirements

• Proven experience supervising collegiate or high-school-level spirit and dance squads or athletic programs, including coaching, choreography, and game-day direction.

• Demonstrated success in recruitment and retention of spirit team members.

• Strong organizational skills in scheduling, logistics, and budget oversight.

• Excellent interpersonal, motivational, and communication abilities.

• Must be able to work flexible hours dependent on team member schedules. Must attend all home men's basketball games and all home women's basketball games when team is participating. Attendance at conference tournament and any other post season events where Spirit Team is participating is required.
