The Defensive Line Coach is responsible for coaching, developing, and mentoring the defensive line players, ensuring they perform at the highest level during practices, games, and throughout the season. This position requires a strong understanding of defensive schemes, the ability to teach technical skills, and a commitment to creating a competitive, disciplined, and cohesive defensive line unit.

Develop and implement coaching strategies and techniques to improve the skills and performance of the defensive line.
Conduct position-specific drills to enhance fundamentals such as pass rushing, run stopping, block shedding, hand placement, and footwork.
Provide individual feedback and analysis of player performance, focusing on technique, conditioning, and mental toughness.
Evaluate players' strengths and weaknesses and work to tailor drills and training plans to maximize their development.
Analyze opponents' offensive line play, identifying weaknesses and tendencies to exploit during games.
Adjust strategies as needed based on in-game situations and player performance.
Break down game film and practice footage to review player performance, identify areas for improvement, and prepare for upcoming opponents.
Provide detailed feedback to players on their film, highlighting areas of strength and techniques that need refining.
Assist in recruiting and scouting defensive line prospects, evaluating talent, and identifying players who would fit within the program’s defensive scheme.

Work closely with the defensive coaching staff to ensure the overall defensive strategy is cohesive and effective.
Attend and participate in staff meetings, providing input on team goals, player development, and tactical approaches.
Instill a strong work ethic, mental toughness, and resilience in players to help them perform under pressure.
Maintain accurate records of player performance, attendance, and academic progress.
Performs miscellaneous and other job-related duties as assigned.

Experience in recruiting and evaluating talent.

Ability to demonstrate drills and techniques to players during practice sessions.
Moderate physical activity. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to fifty (50) pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree (preferred) in Sports Management, Physical Education, or a related field.
Previous coaching experience, preferably at the collegiate or professional level, focusing on the defensive line.
Playing experience as a defensive lineman at the collegiate or professional level is highly preferred.
Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours.
