This position includes the following responsibilities:

• Identify, qualify, cultivate, and solicit donors for gifts and sponsorships to Phoenix Athletics.
• Consult with the AD, Chancellor, and Vice Chancellor for Advancement, develop and actively manage a portfolio of donors and prospects for major gifts and sponsorships.
• Lead all revenue generation strategies for athletics: philanthropic, sponsorships, tickets.
• Coordinate annual communication strategies for donor relations for athletics including annual drives, special events, giving day, etc.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to learn about new trends, new techniques, and new ideas for being a highly productive and effective development officer.
• Carry out other duties and projects as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
• Lead multiple areas within department including sport supervision. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university at time of application
• 6 years of experience in fundraising and/or recruitment, sales, marketing, etc with successful and consistent measurable outcomes 
• Demonstrated experience in cultivation, solicitation, and relationship building of donors or management of special events 
• Possession of a valid driver's license upon employment

  PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Master's Degree at time of application 
• Knowledge of ways donors can make charitable gifts, including cash, appreciated securities, real and personal property, charitable remainder trusts, bequests in a will or living trust, charitable gift annuities, life insurance and retirement fund bequests etc
• Ability to build and maintain productive relationships with donors, University Advancement colleagues, and University faculty and staff members
• Ability to inspire cooperation and participation
• Ability to make cold calls and other introductory contacts to get appointments with donors and prospects
• Ability to understand and follow University, University Advancement, and UW-Green Bay Foundation policies and procedures

This position may be required to work nights, weekends and some travel as needed. 

The home campus of this position is Green Bay and the successful candidate may occasionally be required to travel to or work at the Marinette, Sheboygan or Manitowoc Campus, based on operational needs. 

Position is a full-time Limited Staff appointment. Official transcripts of the highest degree achieved will be required of finalist(s). A criminal conviction investigation will be conducted on the finalist(s) and if there is prior work history within the last 7 years with Universities of Wisconsin, a personnel file review check for employee misconduct. SALARY INFORMATION

Minimum salary of $90,000. 

This position is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

BENEFIT DETAILS

UW System provides an excellent benefits package to meet the diverse needs of its employees.  This includes several health insurance options, with annual deductibles as low as $250/individual and $500/family. Our benefits package also includes dental, vision, several life insurance options, AD&D and Accident insurance and Flexible Spending and Health Savings Accounts.  We participate in the Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS), where employer contributions begin immediately and employees are fully vested after 5 years of service.  The UW System also provides supplemental retirement savings programs including a 403(b) and Deferred Compensation.

In addition, employees receive several types of paid leave benefits, which are prorated for employees working less than 100%.  This includes 9 legal holidays, 36 hours of personal holiday and between 96-130 hours of sick leave annually.  Employees earn 13-27 days of vacation each year, depending on years of service and employment type.
