Director of Athletic Events & Facilities
The Director of Athletic Events & Facility Operations is responsible for the comprehensive leadership, coordination, and oversight of athletic event management and facility operations for the University of Mary Athletics Department. Reporting to the Senior Associate Director of Athletics under the direction of the Director of Intercollegiate Athletics, the Director ensures that all athletic venues operate safely, efficiently, and in alignment with the University's Christian, Catholic, Benedictine mission and commitment to operational excellence.
The Director provides strategic leadership for home event administration, facility scheduling, venue operations, external rentals, event logistics, staffing, and operational planning across all athletic facilities, including newly constructed venues. The position serves as the primary administrator for identified home athletics contests and external facility users while collaborating with campus partners to provide exceptional service and hospitality to scholar-athletes, coaches, officials, spectators, visiting teams, and the community.
The Director supervises graduate assistants, student employees, part-time staff, and event personnel while supporting long-range operational planning, facility stewardship, budget administration, and continuous improvement initiatives.
A key responsibility is the enthusiastic implementation of and personal investment in the University’s “Greatness Through Virtue” whole-person development model.
Candidates will be invited to demonstrate a willingness to support the Christian, Catholic, Benedictine mission of the University of Mary.
Essential Roles and Responsibilities Include: - Athletic event management & game day administration - Facility scheduling, operations & external rentals - Personnel leadership & event staffing - Facility operations & maintenance coordination - Administrative leadership & department operations

Desired Minimum Qualifications, Education, and Experience Include: - Bachelor’s degree in Sport Management, Athletic Administration, Facility Management, Business Administrations, Recreation, Event Management or related field is required - Master’s degree in Sport Administration, Higher Education, Business Administration or a related field with three or more years of experience is preferred - Supports the ongoing implementation of Ex Corde Ecclesiae, the apostolic constitution on Catholic colleges and universities. - Builds a culture of ready and earnest hospitality in the Office of Intercollegiate Athletics and throughout the university, in accord with Saint Benedict’s admonition that all be received as Christ.
